"Saint Michael slaying the dragon" statue signed E. FREMIET, bronze with golden patina, cast Barbedienne, produced around 1910 according to the model placed at the top of the steeple of the abbey of Mont Saint Michel in 1896.
Emmanuel Frémiet: Paris 1824/1910, native of a family of Burgundy, pupil of Rude, his works often represent characters and animal subjects.
Very nice general condition, slight distortion of the sword, base in red marble griot (restoration)
