Tsuba nagamarugata in shakudo - Rakan

Sword guard in shakudo, in nanako bottom, of nagamarugata shape (of oval shape), decorated in takazogan gold and suaka.
The decoration represents a rakan holding a tentacle and surrounded by other attributes associated with this type of character: cup, ruyi, "hos-su" / flies, knotty stick.
arhat holding an octopus tentacle.
The rakan are the Japanese equivalents of Chinese arhats: they are the legendary disciples of the Buddha.
