Oil on canvas. Florentine school of the 17th century attributed to Jacopo Vignali. The work presents unmistakable Florentine characters and close similarities to the style of the master. This sacred composition has strong contrasts of light to better illuminate the flesh. And the bottom is vague, almost vaporous.
Beyond the solemnity of the scene, the delicacy of Tobie's gesture and the sweetness of the faces illustrate a powerful feeling.
The 18th century Italian frame is carved and gilded with mecca. It has its original hook wrought iron.
