Christ "ecce Homo", 17th Century"

Christ is represented sitting on a rock, his head bent to the left in a pensive attitude. This representation refers to the appearance of Christ before Pilate, after the flogging and crowning of thorns. Simply dressed in his peritonium, Christ wears a crown of openwork spines on his head. His wrists and ankles are bound by heavy ropes. Christ, slender body, fine features and expressive eyes is borrowed from a great serenity.
