Tshokwe headdresses from Angola

Set of two light brown patinated wooden combs, embellished with multiple and refined metal ornaments.
These Cisakulo combs were worn exclusively by Tshokwe men. Nevertheless, some carved figures, as here with a remarkable hairdressing, have feminine attributes.
Former private collection, Paris.
Dimensions: 7 x 2,7 and 6,6 x 2,3 cm.
