An important carved and stained oak architectural corbel portraying the cardinal Wolsey, wearing a cardinal's hat and dressed in heavy garments which are carved into typical and highly detailed folds. In his right hand he is holding a small bible. England. 1st half of the 16th century. Dimensions: height 20cm x width 12,5cm x depth (on top) 6,5cm.
