The young Louis XIV presented to gods and continents, Gouache 17th century

Beautiful fan project representing Queen Anne of Austria in Minerva presenting the young King Louis XIV to the gods and continents.
While a fame is about to crown the young king, the god Apollo in his solar chariot greets him, Hercules will give him the royal scepter and Jupiter a sword.

At their feet are the four allegories of the continents accompanied by their attributes: crocodile and palm tree (America), Lioness (Africa), Incense and camel (Asia), Tiara of the Pope, globe and horse (Europe) seem to prostrate themselves before the young king.

Gouache on vellum enhanced with gold, laminated on an oak panel.

Baguette with the Bérain of time.
