A rare gilded and repoussé-work silver miniature statue of Saint Eloy, the patron saint of goldsmiths, metalworkers and coin collectors. The saint is depicted standing , wearing a long garment which is draped into typical gothic folds. His right hand is outstretched and is holding a hammer, while his left hand is held close against his chest and is holding a pair of pliers.
This statue was probably once part of a reliquary casket or travel altar, dedicated to the saint.
