Curved front Commode inlaid rosewood, opening with three drawers in two rows, resting on four arched legs finished with bronzes in the shape of a shoe, brass flutes, royal red marble top, stamped by JM Chevallier, received Master in 1743, Regency period.
Received Master in 1743, Jean Mathieu Chevallier knows a beautiful prosperity.
He works for the Duke of Talmont as well as for Louise-Anne de Bourbon Condé.
An excellent marquetry artist, he made chests, corners, secretaries and very elegant flat desks.
