A beautiful sarcophagus mask made of natural wood with remains of the original pigments - a.o. a very beautiful turquoise blue on the face - applied on a layer of gesso. The mask represents a dignitary wearing a high headdress of which we still distinguish the headband and part of the decor. The eyes are wide open, enhanced with black. The prominent nose is beautifully carved and slightly protrudes. The lips are thin and well aligned. The mask was fixed with three pegs on the sarcophagus of the deceased, one of which is still present.
