Early 18th Century Cartel Clock, Thuret à Paris

Circa 1710, ormolu, turtleshell, brass and japaned pearwood veneer, signed on the dial THURET à PARIS The bracket, body and top hat with applied ormolu, with an urn overflowing with flowers on top, eight toupees on the corners, the small ones on top and the larger on the gallery. A faun head guards the numeral XII, two sphinges on either side of the enamel medallion with signature, below the numeral VI. A lock and key on the right side allow for the opening of the door for access to the winding and the hands.
