Washerwomen at the Edge of a River - Henri Jacques Delpy (1877-1957)

Henri Jacques Delpy was born in 1877 in Bois-le-Roi.

He was the son and student of Hippolyte-Camille Delpy (1842-1910).

Delpy participates in the Salon des Artistes Français where he was a member as well as at the Salon des Artistes Indépendants.

In his artwork it is evident that he was influenced by his father, Charles Daubigny (1817-1878).

He paints melancholic forest scenes and landscapes that are always full of sensitivity and do not lack any poetic emotion.
