Gothic brass alms dish with thistles, Nuremberg Late 15th century
A rare brass alms dish or so-called "Omphalosschüssel" decorated with a large gothic quatrefoil with four thistles in between, each with two large leafs and tiny stylized flowers, deriving from ribbed planters, placed around a central raised boss.
Repoussé-work brass with a wide flattened rim.
Nuremberg. Gothic. Late 15th century.
