China Powder blue teapot. Kangxi (1662 - 1722)

Circular porcelain teapot with a powder blue background decorated with gold ducks in a lacustrine landscape.
Appeared under the reign of Emperor Kangxi (1662 - 1722), the "powdered blue" blown "or" whipped "is obtained by blowing cobalt blue sprayed with a tube of bamboo closed at the end by a gauze on a piece still wet, before a first firing at high temperature. Then the gold is applied before a second low temperature cooking.

End of the Kangxi period circa 1720
