White Roses - Lucien Victor Guirand de Scévola (1848-1928)

Lucien Victor Guirand de Scévola was born on November 14, 1871, in Sète.
He was the student of Fernand Cormon (1845-1924) at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris.
He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes français.
Guirand de Scévole was also a member of the Comité de la Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts.
He received the Légion d’Honneur in 1914.

Guirand de Scévola had a very successful career as a portraitist for the upper society. He painted portraits of the Duke of Massa, the Duchess of Uzès, and the Duchess of Brissac, just to name a few. He is also known for his paintings of flowers and still life.
