An Exceptional Kanaya Gorosaburo Brasero

Impressive Japanese hibachi (brazier) tripod round shape in bronze with copper patina and small leaves. It is adorned on the outside with a magnificent finely chiseled decoration of a cottage in a lake landscape surrounded by pine trees with mountains in the background.

Origin : Japan. Period : 20th century, late Meiji / early Taisho. External dimensions: 50cm x height 36cm.

Kanaya Gorosaburo comes from a large family of Kyoto bronzers whose first lived from 1581 to 1668. It is only from the 9th generation that the name Kanaya was added to Gorosaburo. Particularly prolific Gorosaburo is present in several museums including the National Victoria of Melbourne, the Rijskmuseum ... for his creations of vases, saber guards ...
