Christ from a cross, Romanesque Circa 1150.
A rare Christ from a cross in bronze with traces of gilding. The strictly frontal body is largely geometrized, with long arms, both legs parallel, the bust is narrow and striated by incisions showing the ribs. The frontality of the composition is however interrupted by the inclination of the crowned head with open eyes. Christ is clothed in a long perizonium, which was originally enamelled.
Southern France or Northern Spain. Romanesque. Circa 1150.
