Gobelin tapestry - Triumphs over Alexander the Great

Exceptional and rare panel of tapestry of the XVIIth century, weaved in Tapestries.
This tapestry is a part of the fourth hanging in low ribband weaved for her alone without metal. The panel which we present here in for register
Alexandre during his entrance to Babylon according to the picture of Charles Le BRUN ( 1619-1690 ) triumphs
Realized in 1665 at present displayed(exposed) to the museum of Louvre.
It is important to mention that this fourth and last hanging of
11 rooms(parts, plays), was offered by king Louis XIV to Anne Marie Louise Of Orléans, Duchess de Montpensier, more known sounds the name of " Big Miss " (1627-1693). This hanging will be delivered in two steps, on 1685 and 1686. We shall note that the tapestries of this hanging possess a border in
Flowers and fruits, simpler than those of high ribband. And very particular thing, weapons are replaced by a cabochon in medallion and below one cartridge exchange with the mention(distinction):

" SO THERE VIRTUE GET UP THE HEROES

To underline: borders and dimension of origin.
The panel(sign) which we present here is weaved in low ribband, what means that it is reproduced not as panels(signs) in high ribband, but, back to front as if we had for the high ribband what we call
"Left" and in low ribband, the "counterparty"("compensation"). That is why our
Panel of tapestry is inverted with regard to(compared with) the picture of Charles Le Brun
(1619-1690).
