Auguste Mayer (1805-1890)

Auguste Mayer was born Étienne François Auguste Mayer on July 5, 1805 in Brest and he died on September 22, 1890 in the same city.

He devotes himself very young to marine painting, a kind that he has not ceased to cultivate since, and obtains the authorization to make voyages on ships of the State in the East, Scandinavia, Holland, etc. .
