Armenien painter, after completing a school of art society in St. Petersburg, he studied at the Julian Academy from 1899 to 1904. His style is influenced by Impressionism.
He was a resistance fighter and had an important role in the liberation movement in Western Armenia. After the Armenian Genocide, he lived in France, Italy, Spain and the United States.
His political commitments did not prevent him from becoming one of the most talented Ottoman and Armenian painters of his time.
