Aquamanille, Faenza early 17th century

Faenza majolica bell-shaped jug dating from the early 17th century.
It presents a decor called "compendiario", a lion's muzzle as an opening, a fauna-shaped handle and a grotesque face embossed on the shoe.
Brand under the piece: DOPI This mark is often found on some Majolica Faenza from the late 16th or early 17th century. It would correspond to the workshop "della bottega Bettisi".
