Large bronze Buddha in The bhumisparsa or "earth witness" mudra. Chiang Saen or Lanna style (11-18th century) Influenced here by the style of Sukothai at the end of the period (very thin curls) Note the presence of a stylized lotus flower instead of a flame at the top of the cranial protuberance (ushinisha) Eyes in mother of pearl. Small hole on the right thigh. Northern Thailand, first half of the 19th century Measure: 89 x 68 x 32cm.
