Silver and enamel drinking horn by Rudolf Linke

Elegant silver and enamel drinking horn. The body of the horn is decorated with painted enamel featuring mythological characters seated in a landscape. The central figure is crowned with a laurel wreath and sun rays are emanating from behind his head. The cup is upheld by a sculpted mermaid who is set on a circular base that is embellished with intricately wrought stylized rinceaux. A handle with a woman’s head and torso and a small band of multicolored enamel stretches from the rim to the neck.
