Born in 1856, Henry Moret (1856 - 1913) arrives at the age of 22 in Pont Aven and will never leave Brittany. The main theme of his work, namely the marine subjects allow him to highlight two of his pictorial characteristics: his speed of execution and his virtuosity in contrasts. Added to this is a keen sense for the transcription of his objective vision of nature.
