Brissot de Warville was born in the Yonne at Veron and died in Versailles in 1892.
Regisseur of the palace of Compiègne under the Empire, he is author of numerous paintings representing agrest scenes and under the influence of the naturalistic current he turns to the representation of the forest. He exerts his talent of animal without being insensitive to the beauty of the landscapes. Herds of sheep are sought after by amateurs. Having studied with Charles Jacque, he excels as his master to join with a rare beauty of colors the harmony of the composition
