A Louis XIV "Boulle" marquetry Commode attributed to Nicolas Sageot

A Louis XIV ormolu-mounted ebony, brass and red tortoise shell-inlaid "Boulle" marquetry Commode.
Inlaid overall in première partie and contre-partie elements with interlaced foliate strapwork, Berainesque grotesque scenes, butterflies, birds and masks beneath draped canopies, the rounded and moulded rectangular top centred by a reserve with the figure of Apollo on a chariot pulled by a quadriga, above a serpentine front with two short and three long drawers similarly decorated with floral sprays, each centred by a satyr-mask escutcheon, the sides centred by a mask, the canted angles above foliate hoof feet.
Attributed to Nicolas Sageot (1666 - 8 January 1731) Received Master in 1706
