Anglo-Saxon gold disc pendant with dragonesque creatures. 6th/7th C.
An extremely rare Anglo-Saxon hammered and repoussé gold disc pendant or "bracteate", decorated with six crouching dragonesque creatures with large tails and claws, and an almandine centrally placed within a bezel, with pearled border and retaining the original strap carrying loop.
England. Anglo-Saxon period. Circa 6th/7th century A.D.
