CHINA, Export Ware : Pair of porcelain armorial chargers, bearing the coat of arms of the Van Beeftingh family.
Most of the service was destroyed during the Rotterdam bombing during the second world war, a part from 13 platesand a few dishes ...
FRans Van Beeftingh (1713 - 1791) worked for the VOC in Rotterdam and in 1734 boarded the Hofvliet sailing to Batavia. The crossing took 199 days.
In Batavia he married Elisabeth Sautijin (1726 - 1783), ad two children and in 1747 became Captain of Batavia Castle.
In 1750 he came back to Holland, after a 228 days crossing.
