Very nice chest of drawers, stamped Claude-Charles Saunier, of 18th cebntury in flamed mahogany.
This exceptional piece of furniture has a drawer, belt, and two doors on the front.
The ensemble is enhanced with finely carved bronze frames and nets. The upper drawer is decorated with gilded bronze brackets on an ebony background, and is decorated with beautiful handles in the form of a lion's head.
This chest of drawers reveals three interior mahogany drawers with drop handles. The anterior columns are flanked by fluted half-columns and are decorated with bronze capitals and scrapers.
The rear pillars form a jump, and are also decorated with capitals and flutes. This dresser rests on four elegant spinning tops.
It is topped with turquoise blue molded marble.
This commode of perfect proportions was executed by Claude-Charles Saunier, one of the greatest cabinet-makers of the XVIII ° century during the reign of Louis XVI.

Historical annecdote : Claude-Charles Saunier (1735-1807) was received Master on July 31, 1752 at the age of 17 years. Its production is characterized mainly by high-quality Transition and Louis XVI furniture, with sober ornamentation, recognizable by the use of mahogany, native woods and bronze rods. He is one of the best cabinetmakers of the reign of Louis XVI, honoring orders for the powerful of his time. Its name is today on the pediment of the facade of the "Ecole Boulle" in Paris.
