A Louis XVI ormolu-mounted satiné and amaranth marquetry Bureau-à-Cylindre stamped Ferdinand Bury, circa 1780
Inlaid overall with chevrons parquetry, the rectangular veneered top with pierced three-quarter gallery, the cylinder shutter enclosing a fitted interior with a sliding black leather-lined writing surface, three compartments and three drawers, above a frieze drawer flanked to one side by two short drawers and by a drawer simulated as two, enclosing a coffre-de-sureté, each side with writing-slides, on square sectioned tapering legs terminating in ormolu caps.
