A Regence giltwood. This mirror is divided into two parts, a rectangular part for the lower part and a pediment for the upper part. The pediment is surmounted by an acanthus still heavily influenced by the Louis XIV style. Acanthus delimited by windings of vegetals foliage on a friez winding . The two shoulders are decorated with windings that rise from foliage to blossom into small flowers. The rectangular-shaped central mirror is enshrined in a grooved guilloche border frame accented with florets. The floor is mounted parquet. We find in this decoration the beautiful classical ornaments of the decorative arts of the Regency, arranged in a still symmetrical balance at the beginning of the eighteenth century, around 1715-1735.
