Brass bomb, registered at the back "355", dated "69" (1869), marked with the punch "DELACHAUSSÉE" as well as the punch of the regiment of the Dragons of the Guard "D" followed by an imperial crown. Brass visor and neck cover with 8 mm wide brass rim folded over the outside edges. The visor measures 4.8 cm wide, it is lined with a black waxed basan. The neck cover is lined with black waxed sheepskin and is punched inside "L". Depth of the bomb about 15 cm. Brass frontal stamp embossed in crowned "N" on two laurel branches, H in the center 10.5 cm. Plume holder with square section decreasing downwards. H 3.5 cm. Crest composed of two wings stamped with a series of 6 descending caissons backwards with horizontally striated bottom and each of them separated by a gadroons. The lower edge of the ailerons is folded over the bomb and cut into scallops and fixed to it by means of four screws with a half-spherical brass head. H max. of the crest 10.5 cm. Mask with horizontally striated bottom, decorated with five relief smooth moldings with in the top a head of gorgon stamped in relief and in the bottom a palmette. Width of the mask at the top 4.5 cm, at the center 2.5 cm, at the bottom 3.5 cm. Ornament of brass crest with black horsehair, H of ornament 5,3 cm, H of horsehair 5 cm. Mane of black hair with braided mat in center, length about 60 cm. Jugulars composed of strong leather chinrings covered with a series of interlaced brass rings, max. 3.4 cm, minimum width 1.9 cm. The two chinrings are terminated one by a square brass buckle and the other by a saddle. The chin guards are bomb-held by means of a half-spherical brass screw with rounded rosettes (diameter 5.2 cm) embossed with laurel leaves. Inner shell in black waxed black woolen tan. H total 35.5 cm. Very good condition, inner cover worn, very slightly rubbed. La France. Second Empire.
