Crucifix in Moustiers 18th century, workshop of Fouque

Important and rare crucifix of procession in faience of "grand feu".
Triangular base supported by 3 large claw feet in blue camaieu.

The three faces are decorated in polychrome, the first the Christ to the bonds, the second a monk and the third a bishop. On this basis rests a Latin cross and the representation of the Jansenist Christ under which is found a head of death and two crossbones.
Above in the representation of a parchment unrolled the inscription INRI. The cross is supported by a ball and decorated with flowering branches and rocailles, ending at the three ends of pine cones.

This cross is dislodged from its base for use in processions and has been fixed for security reasons.

Good general condition apart from a small pile taken at the bottom of the cross

Height: 63,5 cm
