Two-door bookcas en Boulle style marquetry circa 1850

Two-door bookcase attributed to Mathieu BEFORT, called Befort Jeune (Paris 1816-1880), in blackened wood veneer, inlay of brass and chiseled bronze.

With a remarkable quality of execution, this furniture Louis XIV style can be attributed to Mathieu Befort who was directly inspired by the works of André Charles Boulle.
Brass inlays on a blackened wooden background with leafy foliage and flowers.
Rich ornamentation of carved bronze and bronze sculptures of women applied on the lower panels of the doors.
