Polychrome painted dark blue lacquered wooden barrel at the front of the Imperial Great Weapons. H about 26 cm, diameter 39 cm. In the lower part, the metal strike is missing, making it possible to tighten the lower skin. In the upper part of the body, a bronze ring is attached, it is intended for the suspension of the drum. Large box circles made of ash wood and pierced with ten holes at equal distances. The large circles are lacquered dark blue. Each circle is 4 cm high and 8 mm thick. Upper body skin in parchment calf with a 1 cm diameter hole. Lower skin missing. Ropes which serve to stretch the skin in hemp laced in zigzag, on the barrel, passing through the holes of the circles. The circumference of the rope is 5 mm. The rope is incomplete on two heights. The buffs originally bleached are 3 cm wide at the top, 5 cm at the bottom, at the ends, 6 cm long. They serve as sinkers for stretching the ropes. Good condition. La France. First Empire.
