Louis XV ormolu-bronze Mantel Clock representing the Rape of Europa attributed to Robert Osmond circa 1750 - 1760

An important Louis XV ormolu-bronze Mantel Clock representing the rape of Europa.

She is dressed in loosely fitting long dress, leaving her left shoulder exposed, and is seated holding a garland of flowers which falls to either side of a drum-shaped clock case supported by a bull standing on an asymmetric rock-work base, the surface setted with plants and reeds.

The movement, by Fol Fils à Paris, is similarly inscribed in the back.

The white enamel dial with pierced engraved ormolu hands.
