Very beautiful pair of large candlesticks in gilded bronze, matte gilded bronze and patinated bronze of the Empire period.
The winged Victories support a sculpted bow with decorations of a dog and two swans.
The central fire rests on a lyre, surrounded by two Putti and garlands of flowers. There are decorations with crowns, palmettes and winged Victories. The lower coils are beautifully chiselled with palmettes.
We find the same decoration of spindles on torches from the Murat foundation. No attribution can be established for these candelabra. The quality of the work is exceptional and it is nevertheless obvious that it is the work of one of the great Parisian craftsmen.
Condition report: very good condition of gilding (with wear and tear especially at the base), the "strings" of the lyre are a little bit deformed, missing a picot under one of the putti.
As it is not visible, it does not alter the stability of the object)
