Rare type of brass "Heemskerk" candlestick in Brass, 2nd quarter 6th century

A rare type of brass "Heemskerk" candlestick, with a dished wide driven, standing on a circular, domed base with a double baluster stem. The socket candleholder with two large rectangular apertures. This candlestick is still strongly influenced by the late gothic era.

The Netherlands. 2nd quarter of the 16th century.

Dimensions: height 19cm ; diameter of the base 9cm

In very good, unrestored condition with a nice patina.
