A very rare medieval floor tile in glazed red earthenware, incrusted with a yellow slipware decoration, depicting a spectacular dragon advancing, one of its claws raised, with widely spread wings. The dragon is placed in a lozenge-shaped frame, with a thistle with leaves in each corner.
West Flanders. 2nd half of the 14th century.
Provenance : excavated the region of the city of Courtrai.
