Fruitwood Christ corpus attributed to César Bagard (1620-1709)

The refined anatomy without mannerism and the bowed head with curly hairs are typical of the French Christo Vivo of the time of Louis XIV. However, the typology and the form of the perizonium allow us to classify this corpus in a series of Christ attributed to the Lorraine master César Bagard and his workshop.

Beautiful condition, missing fingers.
