The Tenture of Vertumne and Pomone is one of the oldest and most important that has come out of the manufacture of Brussels. Comprising nine pieces, it was woven in wool, silk and gold, in the middle of the 16th century, for the Emperor Charles V. Vertumne is the god of the seasons, which is originally depicted as a stylized maple trunk.
