A panel of lacquer measuring 60X50 cm (without frame) representing a bath signed bottom left circa 1935. Alix Aymé is a French painter who lived in China and Vietnam. Professor at the School of Fine Arts of Indochina, she helped to revive the art of lacquer. Alix Aymé studied music and drawing in Toulouse, then was a pupil of the painter Maurice Denis, whom she assisted in the decoration of the dome of the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris.
