Inro. Japanese lacquer – Urushi, open by 5 cases. Togidashi lacquer. On the face, a cat is creeping into a room through a circular bamboo cross-trutted window, the truts secured with strands of creeper. Live bambou is visible outside in the garden. A rat, the object of the cat attention, crouched at the foot of the Chinese table-stand, upon which stands a Koro (incense burner). The charm of the cat’s face is belied by its long, sharp extended claws on the window’s edge.
