A pale celadon and russet veines jade carving of horse

Provenance: Private American collection.

Carved in the form of a recumbent horse turning its head to the left with a raised and gently curving spine, finely incised with a neatly combed forelock and tail tucked under its hindleg and freely curving over the haunch, the smooth stone with a few patches of russet veines,
with three bats on its back and a minuscule one hidden in its tail.
