Gold Case with Diamonds and Sapphire Early 20th Century

Intricately decorated rectangular gold case. The case opens in the front like a small purse. The entirety of the case is embellished with intricate geometric patterns of parallel stripes alternating with bands of polished gold. The upper part of the case is accented with a bow and stylized foliage that are highlighted with small, inlaid diamonds. The center of the case features the letter M topped with a crown, and a cabochon sapphire serves as the button that opens the case.
