Augustin Carrera was born in Madrid in 1878. Died in Paris in 1952.
French nationality painter, a student of Bonnat and Henri Martin at the School of Fine Arts in Paris. He executed the ceiling of the foyer of the opera of Marseille, Phoebus representative.
He exhibited at the fair in 1904, then the Salonn des independants and the salon des Tuileries where he sends nudes, portraits, flowers, landscapes and views of harbors it sends to the Salon of French Artists, the Independent Artists, Tuileries (1927-1933). It is in its southern views that shows the most passionately colorist. Carrera surprised by the liveliness of his palette, made violent and bold tones, tawny (fauves).
