Flat, rectangular, gold and ivory case. A small button serves to open the lid of the case. The case is comprised of four panels set in a gold framework that is intricately sculpted with two colors of interlacing gold. The two panels of the lid are inscribed with the motto: “Souvenir d’amitié” (Souvenir of Friendship). The main panels of the case are embellished with two portraits on ivory. On one side is an upper-class woman with powdered hair and a white dress, and on the other side is a young man with powdered hair wearing armor and a blue scarf. These portraits are framed in the same gold motif as the rest of the case’s framework. The inside of the case holds ivory plates.
