A carved gilt wood barometer-thermometer decorated with laurel, two doves symbolising love situated above. It indicates the record of coldest day in 1740, 1776 and 1788, the temperature in Saint-Petersbourg, Senegal, silkworm , orange tree and ice, frozen river.
