A .D. Auguste Delafontaine (1813- 1892) : Business house DELAFONTAINE (Last third of the eighteenth century -1905).
With his son Auguste-Maximilien Delafontaine (1813-1892) that this firm, which he ran from 1840 to 1883, will experience its most productive period since the creation. For example, doors and chandeliers "to the ancient" of the Pantheon, but also with his brilliant activity founder-publisher of Art sculptors such as Barye, Pradier, Duret, Geoffroy-Dechaume, Schoenewerk ... Continuing his activities, his son Henry Maximilian will succeed him in 1884, before retiring in 1905. Founded in the last third of the eighteenth century by Jean-Baptiste Delafontaine (1750-1820), this remarkable bronze manufactory will run between 1818 and 1840, with Pierre-Maximilien Delafontaine (1777 to 1860).
Among the many achievements of this period we will remember his collaboration with the famous cabinetmaker Jacob Desmalter. The bronzes of the sin Chapel or bronze decorations of the Louvre Palace to King Charles X. He worked for the royal palaces.
Some escutcheons of the Louvre Palace are of its making.
