The muse Urania teaches astronomy at an angel before a celestial globe.
From the top of a column in the Antique style, a rooster is watching the scene.
Dial signed "Champion rue de la Feuillade in Paris.".

Clocks in biscuit were very fashionable in the reign of Louis XVI at the end of Directoire period circa 1800.
Whiteness and purity of biscuit were perfect to imitate marble statues.
The classicism being back in fashion with mythological subjects and heroes of ancient Greece.
Very fragile, they are extremely rare and perfectly symbolize the end of the 18th century.
